The Australian Songbook Tour

THE VOICE runner up Mick Harrington is bringing his Australian Songbook Tour to the Tooleybuc Country Club Hotel for an evening of classic Australian songs at 6pm tonight.

A country boy hailing from East Gippsland, Mr Harrington knows the joy that can be found listening to live music in a country pub.

“The Australian Songbook Tour is just me and my guitar, singing all those classic songs from Australian singers and songwriters in the most iconic Aussie pubs in Victoria,” he said.

“It’s always good to get out and meet new country people; they’re always friendly and good for a chat, to tell you about what’s going on in their community.

“They’re my kind of people.”

The event is raising funds for family and domestic violence service Orange Door.

“Helping people that are experiencing or at risk of family and domestic violence is something that is important for all men to be on the record being in support of and doing the work to make it a better place for our families,” Mr Harrington said.

“Country people know how to support a good cause.”

Mr Harrington will perform acoustic covers of Australian classics from the likes of Paul Kelly, Crowded House and Richard Clapton.

While the event is not ticketed, Tooleybuc Country Club Hotel director recommends attendees make a booking especially if they intend to dine.
