RSL gets going fast

THE RSL Have A Goes got off to a flying start by taking all four doubles games against the Tooley Tigers on Wednesday.

The Tigers settled and managed to take the first two singles games, but went on to lose the next two singles before adding a bit of respectability to their overall night’s tally by winning the teams game. The unbeaten Have A Goes won the night 6-3.

The RSL Gunners hosted Let’s Get Pegged at the RSL, both teams looking for their first win of the year.

The Gunners won their first doubles match, but things then took a turn for the worse, with the Gunners not winning another game until the last singles match. Let’s Get Pegged took out the teams game to win 7-2.

Despite the scoreline, the Gunners put up a good fight, with three of the four singles games going to three legs as Cassie Gabler and Annika Cunningham from the Gunners both threw the highest score for the women this week with a 108, while Hayden Glare threw an equal-highest score for the men of 140.

In the closest contested game of the round, the SHC Blazers took on the Ultima Bullchuckers at the Swan Hill Club. The teams were evenly matched, being 2-2 after the doubles and then 4-4 after the singles.

It all came down to the teams game, where the Blazers managed to get the win, despite a slow start.

Bullchuckers’ Chris Conlan threw a great peg of 2/91 in one of his doubles games, while Marc Williams from the Blazers managed to throw two 140s and a 100 in his 19-dart game, which was the shortest of the night for the men.
