Smashing time at cafe

A MAN is wanted after smashing his way into a Swan Hill cafe.

The offender unsuccessfully tried to gain entry to the Karinie Street business in the early hours of July 27 using a screwdriver.

He returned to the store with a hammer and broke the window.

He tried to open the cigarette cabinet but was unsuccessful, and left the store, grabbing a drink on his way out.

Stolen tools found

POLICE have seized a number of allegedly stolen tools from a Kerang address.

Kerang and Swan Hill police searched property on Wednesday and found a number of items reported stolen from Kerang and Swan Hill businesses.

The offences happened between March and August this year and the property found included a variety of power tools including a chainsaw, vehicle jack and air compressor.

A 28-year-old man was arrested and later charged and bailed to appear at Swan Hill Magistrates’ Court in November.
