BALRANALD’S St Joseph’s Parish School has been visited by Catholic Education Wilcannia-Forbes director Peggy Saab.
The visit was part of Mrs Saab’s visits to all 18 primary schools across the Wilcannia-Forbes diocese, which covers more than half of NSW.
The diocese provides Catholic education to more than 1700 students across rural and remote communities.
Mrs Saab travelled as far north as Brewarrina and as far south as Deniliquin.
She said the teaching staff across the area were at the top level of Catholic education.
“After 54 years in the field of education, I can confidently say that the principals in our diocese are among some of the best I have encountered,” she said.
“Their commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of our students is truly commendable.”
Mrs Saab was also impressed by the strong sense of community that was shown across the smaller towns, including Balranald.
She also recognised the hard work teachers put in across the diocese, commenting on their unwavering commitment to seeing students thrive at school and in the community.
