Voice’s Lanyon to sing carols at Euston

THE Voice Australia contestant and Boort local Elias Lanyon will be performing at Euston this Thursday for Carols on the Riverfront

Held at the Euston Club Resort Riverfront Reserve, the event will feature Lanyon along with performances from singers Thea McLoughlan and Nicole Matthews, as well as students from Euston Public School who will be singing Christmas Carols.

There will also be a special visit from Mr Claus himself.

Food stalls, and free children’s entertainment will also be available on the night, but to make the event family friendly, there will be no alcohol sold.

Euston Club chief executive Guy Fielding said the event has become a town tradition over the last 10 years.

“It’s a fantastic event to get everyone in town into the Christmas spirit every year,” he said.

“It’s a great night out for families to celebrate a little bit of Christmas a week before it happens.

“We will be outside, enjoying the evening by the Murray River, hoping that the weather will be kind to us.”

Free children’s activities include face painting, rock climbing, jumping castles, a slide and a mechanical bull.

Mr Fielding said the rock climbing wall was so popular during the Murray River Salami Festival in November that they have decided to keep it for this event.

“Hopefully the kids will enjoy all of the activities,” he said.

“Santa will also be coming around after 8pm to take photos and hand out lollies.”

Mr Fielding said the event will be a great opportunity for Euston residents to see Lanyon who has been on TV this August wowing judges on season 13 of The Voice Australia.

“To have all of these talented artists performing and showcasing their talents for this event is something a lot of people in town are looking forward to,” he said.

Carols on the Riverfront will have a 5:30pm on Thursday start at Euston Club Resort Riverfront Reserve.
