THERE was a great boot sale last week. Thank you to people who donated items and to those who help to run this monthly event. It is an appreciated community outing.
On Sunday the parish service will be held in the Swan Hill church at 11am. This celebration will be followed by a bring-your-own picnic lunch. Come along and give thanks for all the good things in our lives, then share fellowship with other.
The following weekend, parishioners will combine with Uniting Church members to man the horse gate at the show. This raises some funds for the work of both churches.
When you are shopping, please remember the families supported by Anglicare who benefit from food donations in the basket at church. All your help is valued.
Grain Shed
MEMBERS who attended church last Sunday witnessed and celebrated the lives of those who believe and chose to follow Jesus through baptism.
Pastor Emily shared her message on how imparting spiritual life to the next generation is essential.
“Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got. Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night. Tie them on your hands and foreheads as a reminder; inscribe them on the doorposts of your homes and on your city gates”. Deuteronomy 6:5-8. This Sunday, at 10am, the service begins and Pastor Shayne will be continuing in the series I Believe in You.
As it is school holidays, the Grain Shed Kids program is on a break, however there are activity packs available in the foyer. Also, after the service there will be a footy-final favourite foods, bags of pies and chips on sale at $5 each. All profits go to Hampers of Hope.
Save the date Saturday, October 26, 10am to 5pm for the Harvest of Hope Quilts of the Grain Shed event.
There is still time to fill a shoebox for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. There is information and shoeboxes available in the foyer and to be returned before the end of October.
