SHDCA Round 2: Wandella v Barham-Koondrook

Wandella v Barham-Koondrook

Barham-Koondrook will be looking for their first win in the SHDCA when they travel to Wandella to take on the Bombers Saturday afternoon.

The SHDCA’s newest team can consider themselves unlucky not to have their first win on the board already after pushing Nyah District all the way last weekend, before the Demons eventually came away with a four-run victory.

Saturday will be yet another step up in grade, with Wandella showing they will once again be a force to be reckoned with after comfortably disposing of Swan Hill.

In fact, with the addition of all-rounder Peter Moore and the noticeable improvement of both Bohden and Ethan McKnight with the ball, the Bombers could now be considered the team most likely to challenge St Mary’s-Tyntynder this season.

With that in mind, Wandella will go into Saturday’s match as favourites, with a deeper batting line-up and more potent bowling attack at their disposal.

While Barham-Koondrook possess enough quality players with both bat and ball to trouble the Bombers, namely Chameera Akurugoda and the Lolicato brothers Garry and Warren, a result in favour of the red and black should still be expected.
