Nyah District v Woorinen
Both Nyah District and Woorinen will be looking to maintain their undefeated status when the two clubs meet at Nyah this weekend.
While both the Demons and Tigers had first round wins last Saturday, they both came in very different circumstances, with Nyah District holding on in a nail-biting four run win over Barham-Koondrook and Woorinen securing a comfortable 107-run win over Murrabit.
But while Woorinen, and centurion Darren Rushton, appear to have hit the ground running early, that will count for little on Saturday when the Demons and Tigers resume their long-held rivalry.
Nyah District were found out with the bat last Saturday and will need more from their top order in the continued absence of all-rounder Joel Walsh, with Justin Toomey (39) and Charlie Boulton (16) the only Demons to make double figures last weekend.
Making Nyah District’s task even harder will be the omission of skipper Ben Shadbolt, who will join Walsh on the sidelines, which will test the Demons depth with the ball as well as with the bat.
Woorinen should have no such issues however, with their batting line-up including Rushton and Jason Mangiameli, who were both among the runs last Saturday, as well as Dean Morpeth, Mitchell Uhlhorn and Guri Singh.
