COUNTRY rockers The Mason Boys are coming to town for their first show in Swan Hill.
The four-piece band are bringing their talents to the Swan Hill Club at 7.30pm on Saturday after 10 years touring together.
Drummer Peter Wade said the band could not wait to finally be playing in Swan Hill.
“The band haven’t been up to Swan Hill before, but we’re really excited. Hopefully it can open us up to a whole new audience in the region.”
The band are no strangers to rural areas.
“We generally play all over country Victoria and New South Wales, it’s where we get the best response and those regional areas are really the heartland of country music for us,” Wade said.
“Our lead singer is a real country man. He’s a third-generation farmer, he got us all into the likes of Alan Jackson and now we love both the new and old country stuff.”
The Mason Boys will play a mix of their original songs, as well as some covers with something for all country fans.
“We try to keep it modern by playing stuff that people are listening to on the radio, as well as some oldies like Johnny Cash.
“The band are all in the 40s to 60s, but we try our best to relate to a younger crowd. We play a lot of B&S balls and most of that crowd are in their early 20s, so we gear our music to appeal to that kind of crowd.”
