CALIVIL United are putting more focus on the fun side of netball this year, and are hoping some wins will follow.
“Going into the 2023 season we have a goal to simply just really enjoy our netball with hopefully some success along the way,” A Grade coach Chelsea Hicks said.
Although Hicks was away from the club last season, she felt they had a very successful season from an outside perspective.
“There were a lot of young players that had proved themselves as worthy A Grade players,” Hicks said.
“There was a good relationship amongst the playing group, which really reflected their successes on the court.”
The Demons’ A Grade line-up will look a lot different, losing the majority of their 2022 players, including Mia Peters, Amy Ryan, Jarileey Scholtes, Tia Steen and Jasmine Condliffe.
“Our sides are shaping up fairly different to the previous season, but I believe this year will be a good year to boost our club growth and development,” Hicks said.
Calivil United will have four senior netball teams in 2023, with Maddy McGowan taking on B Grade, while Kellie Anset will lead the C and C Reserve sides.
PLAYER TO WATCH
New recruit Hollie Davidson joins the Demons from Echuca United this season, and will be one to watch on the court this year.
“She is a very fit and agile mid-courter that we are very excited to see in action throughout the season,” Hicks said.
