SWAN HILL

SWAN Hill Bowls Division 1 were in finals form last Saturday for their first semi-final against Lake Boga 1.

B. Mansbridge and G. Evans rinks set the pace, winning their rinks well. Lake Boga’s Ken Hamill and company were at the top of their game against L. Shadbolt’s rink but could not cover the losses of the other two rinks. Swan Hill came out winners by 20 shots overall.

Tomorrow will see Swan Hill up against a formidable Racecourse 1 side in the preliminary final at Swan Hill. Give it your best shot, Swan Hill Boys.

Our Division 2 side could not repeat their performance from the previous week against Murray Downs 3, going down on all three rinks. Division 2’s season now ends, but there are still plenty of bowls on.

All divisions will play preliminary finals at Swan Hill tomorrow. Supporters should see some good bowling.

Swan Hill Bowls Two Day Classic on The Murray, started on Wednesday with 84 keen bowlers from many clubs, far and wide anxious to contest for excellent prize money.

Fridays are following a very warm weather pattern at the moment – however, Friday Frolic will be on if anyone wishes to brave the heat.

On Tuesday, both Divisions 1 and 2 preliminary finals are being played at Swan Hill Bowls Club, starting at 9.30am.

With the temperature for next Wednesday likely to be more bowler-friendly, social bowls could be back on the agenda.

Enter your names before the 1pm starting time.
