THANKS to the tireless efforts of youth from across the Gannawarra Shire, the much anticipated Summerwave Music Festival will return to Kerang this February.
Summerwave 2023 will feature 16 live music acts, ranging from young up-and-comers such as Elias Lanyon, Daniel Aaron and The Known, to nationally touring artists such as headliner Reece Mastin.
In addition to the live music, Summerwave will also host laser tag, airbrush tattoos, festival face paint and the Summerave DJ tent, which is all included in the festival ticket price. Food and drinks will also be available to purchase from food trucks at the venue.
From concept to marketing, Summerwave’s youth led committee have been the decision makers every step of the way.
They have been assisted by North Central LLEN youth program assistant at Molly Meadows and Northern District Community Health youth health promotion worker at Matt Allan.
“Summerwave 2023 is going to be big, bigger than ever,” Mr Allan said.
“We will host more activities, more stages and more food trucks.
“It’s been fantastic bringing Summerwave back again and this year we are bringing some huge acts to the stage that everyone can enjoy.”
A key member in the committee and local musician Deaken Fawcett said he is excited to perform at Summerwave again and loves having the opportunity to share the stage with some musical icons.
The Summerwave team have again partnered with YoBendigo to support transport to the event from Bendigo, and there will also be buses from regional towns in the Loddon and Buloke shires.
Summerwave has been made possible through funding from Victorian Government initiative FReeZA, Northern District Community Health and the Gannawarra Shire, with organisers also thanking MixxFM The Mallee and headspace Swan Hill.
Summerwave Music Festival will take place on Saturday, February 4 at Atkinson Park in Kerang. Gates will be open from noon until 10pm. Tickets are $15 for youth and $25 for adults.
