Rare coins heist

COMMEMORATIVE coins and notes have been stolen from a Piangil property.

A resident woke to find his small safe, located inside a shed, half empty of its contents on November 20 last year.

The coins had been kept in their original packaging and the uncirculated bank notes had been kept pressed in a book.

All items were kept in excellent condition.

The victim estimated that the value of the missing coins and notes could be around $5000.


Bin fire arrest

A MAN was arrested after a rubbish bin was set alight on December 26.

Police and the CFA were called to an address in Thurla Street, Swan Hill at 2.30am.

Later that day, a 32-year-old male was arrested and remanded in custody.


Home damaged

POLICE are investigating after a home under construction at Lake Boga was targeted by thieves.

Damage was caused to the premises some time between December 21 and 24.


Drug offences

TWO people have been charged with drug offences.

Police intercepted a vehicle at a Swan Hill residential street in the early hours of January 1.

A 34-year-old male passenger was found in possession of methylamphetamine.

The 35-year-old driver had a disqualified licence and was found in possession of what is alleged to be cannabis.

Both were charged and bailed to attend court at a later date.


Home invasion

MOBILE phones were stolen during a terrifying home invasion in Robinvale.

Offenders threatened occupants at a Spiller Court home before stealing the devices.


Forced entry

A MAN has been arrested after allegedly forcing his way into a licensed premises in Quambatook.

The incident happened some time between December 26 and 27.

A 56-year-old male was arrested and interviewed.

He is expected to appear in court on summons at a later date.


Altercation charges

POLICE remanded a man in custody following an altercation in Quambatook.

Police were called to an address in the small Mallee town on December 28.

A 67-year-old male was arrested for recklessly causing serious injury and other offences.

He was remanded in custody.

The second male did not require medical treatment.
