Murray Downs Men’s
LAST Saturday was our Christmas turkey four-person teams’ event, in which all teams were competing for a dressed Christmas turkey.
The final result came down to a tie at the top of proceedings, with the two best scores of 128 points recorded by the team of Gene Brooks, Colin Mewburn, Paul Sparks and Rod Prockter, and the team consisting of the Raudino family (Paul, Ben and Caine) and Geoff Frame. Each member of these two teams received a dressed turkey each.
Nearest the pins went to Ken Gregory on the 2nd, Tony Miceli on the 5th, Grant McNees was just outside the magical metre on the 11th and Aldo D’Amico on the 15th.

On Sunday, the presentations from the first series of the Swan Hill Windows & Kitchens nine-hole summer competition was held.
Winning team The Golden Oldies, consisting of Rob and Bev West and Joe and Maz Morrison, came from two points behind to take the series by a mere one point (454 to 453) from Cadd Magic (Barb Cadd, Carol Wiseman and David and Claris Bourne) who led the series from the outset but stumbled at the final hurdle.
Entries are now being taken, through the Pro Shop, for the second series, which will start Monday, January 16.
Sunday’s competition was a medley event against par, from which some excellent scores were recorded.
Division 1 was taken out by Chris Smith (11) with an excellent score of six, up from Tyrone Parkinson (16) on one up, and in Division 2, it was Stuart Patterson (24) coming out on top, also with an excellent score of six up, from the very unlucky Hugh Thompson (22) who finished with the same score. Nathan Moon led the ball rundown with three up, which went down to scores of one down, while the NTPs were taken out by Tyrone Parkinson on the 2nd, Oli Rohde on the 5th and Brian Hinton on holes 11 and 15.
Tori Ficarra (24) hit some very good form in last Thursday’s Stableford competition, with possibly his best score ever of 42 points, to take out the major prize in Division 2 from Neil Bailey (24) on 37 points. Ron Munro (17) was the best in Division 1 with 38 points from James McLean (2) with 37 points.
The NTPs went to Wayne Wisby, Peter Amezdroz and Neil Bailey on holes 5, 11 and 15, respectively.
Michael Corridan (25) took out Tuesday’s Stableford competition by way of the countback system from Hugh Thompson (21) when both players finished with 39 points each.
Kris Hazeldene (Neangur Park), 38 points, Francesco Cianci (Latrobe), 38 points, and Wayne Wisby (Barham), 37 points, all scored a ball each for their efforts.

Tooleybuc Ladies
IT has been a trying year with all the rain we have had, and our golf course flooded on several occasions, which makes being a consistent golfer hard work – well, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
A big thank you goes to Harv and Tom for all your hard work – it has been a very trying time for them with lots of extra work.
The golf course is looking fantastic now.
Congratulations to our winners.
