Pies get best of 18 and Under battle

AN intense grand final ended with a well deserved premiership for Lake Boga’s 18 and Under team.

It was anyone’s game throughout, with the lead swapping between Tyntynder and Lake Boga at various points.

Pies co-coaches Jemma Meehan and Katie Hepburn said it was a nerve-racking game to watch from the sidelines, but they were very proud of how their girls performed.

“I think Tyntynder worked us all game, they gave 110 per cent to us for the whole game, so it was very stressful right up until that final minute,” Meehan said.

“At the start of the year, if someone had have come back from five goals down in the last quarter and come to us like that, we would have thrown our hands up in the air, just given up.

“So the girls have definitely come such a long way across this year.”
