Japanese Encephalitis Virus vaccine available for vulnerable groups

AS the Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV) outbreak continues to emerge, the GPs at Swan Hill Primary Health Medical Centre will assist in vaccinating those who meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligible communities include people who work at, reside, or have a planned, non-deferrable visit to a piggery, as well as transport workers, veterinarians and others involved in the care of pigs, a pork abattoir or pork rendering plant.

Personnel who work directly with mosquitos such as environmental health officers, entomologists or pest controllers and laboratory workers who may be exposed to JEV as per the Australian Immunisation Handbook will also be eligible.

To book an appointment, call the clinic on 5033 9900
