Charity art auction to open

AFTER months of preparation, the Swan Hill Branch of the Fight Cancer Foundation’s (FCF) 9 x 5 Art Exhibition opens on Friday night at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery.

Pieces will be available to be bid online thanks a partnership with Graeme Hayes Real Estate, who will run an online auction on their website.

The exhibition has been generously supported by various local artists including the Mallee Artists of Swan Hill (MASH), which has donated a considerable number of pieces.

In total, there are over 50 original artworks from artists across the Murray Mallee Region and branch member Emily Caruso is looking forward to the upcoming exhibition and auction.

“We are excited to be able to showcase our local artists and give the community a chance to own an original piece of work,” she said.

As part of the official opening, Fight Cancer Foundation Chief Executive Eric Wright will be in attendance alongside members from the Swan Hill branch.

Graeme Hayes Real Estate was approached to be involved following great success on their own online platforms, including hosting clearing sales online.

This week, the staff at Graeme Hayes Real Estate have been busy uploading pictures of all of the exhibitions and making sure that the site is all ready to go for the launch tonight.

Once launched, people will be able to bid on items from the exhibition up until the closing of the exhibition on May 15.

Friday night also marks the opening of another two exhibitions that will also be display at the gallery.

Centric by Emma Samin showcases pieces that explores the ancient and meditative zone of the mandala through the most intricate rendering of personalised symbols.

Changed Forever: Legacies of Conflict is a new exhibition from the Shrine of Remembrance that interweaves stories of migrants from war torn countries alongside recent veterans reflecting the range and depth of experiences of conflict.
