Missionaries assisted with meaningful gift

WALLY and Leona Grant are returning to Papua New Guinea to continue their work as missionaries, and this time they will be going with a Honda chainsaw generously donated by Warren Pryor, owner of Swan Hill Power Products.

Mr Grant said the chainsaw will be “a blessing” for the mission as it will make a significant difference in the lives of Papua New Guineans.

“When you see the people over there chopping wood with blunt axes and machetes, you know something like a chainsaw is going to make so many people’s lives much easier,” he said.

“I know Warren as his children went to school where my wife worked, the Son Centre Christian College.

“And when I asked if he could donate something, he didn’t hesitate – it’s wonderful to have someone like that in the community.

“Warren has not just done something, he’s part of something, as these missions are significant for small towns like Swan Hill.”

Mr Pryor said he and Swan Hill Power Products were more than happy to assist the Grants with their mission.

“It’s fantastic to be able to support Wally and Leona as they head back to Papua New Guinea,” Mr Pryor said, who also donated chainsaw oil.

As a token of appreciation, Mr Grant gave Mr Pryor a cap.

The Grants will be helping to construct bridges and shelters on their mission.
