Sonic Speedway makes a return

THE Sonic Speedway will fire up again on Thursday, December 30, with the running of the Mallee Masters Street Stock feature. The night will feature Victoria’s top drivers, as well as many interstate visitors.

The December meeting will see the return of racing to the Sonic Speedway, after unfortunately having to cancel their November meeting due to the unavailability of the compact speedcars, which were going to be the feature class of the evening.

January 8 will see the annual Mick and Jo Memorial for Standard Saloons – an event that always has a lot of support – while Saturday, February 12 will see the very quick super sedans take their place as the feature class before Sunday, March 13 sees a round of the Super Rod Series – an event that’s always spectacular to watch.

The weekend of Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 of April will feature the Victorian Street Stock Title at the Sonic Speedway, an event that will showcase drivers from all over south-east Australia competing for the coveted VIC 1 Title.

Saturday May 7 will see the return of the popular Wingless Sprints – featuring several local drivers, as well as the Jordy Davis Memorial for Junior racers. Finally, the season will come to a close with the ever-popular Super Rods returning on June 11 and 12 for their Victorian State Title, as well as the VSC Formula 500 Pioneer Cup.

Each meeting will also include our local classes – including standards, local juniors, Formula 500s and sports sedans.

More details will be given as the race dates get closer, but for a great day or night of entertainment, plan to ‘get ya backside trackside’.
