DIVISION 1 and Division 2 both played at home, versus Cohuna.
Division 1 went down by 6 shots overall, with A. Jeffs’ side being the only winner.
Division 2 had a bad day with the only victor being R. McKerrow’s side.
Division 3 ventured to Wakool, and had a win with N. Robertson and ‘Fonzy’ Taylors’ sides both recording a win.
The highly sought after Royal Hotel vouchers were won by R. McKerrow’s side on a countback from ‘Fonzy’ Taylor’s side.
Ron McKerrow, Jeff Anderson, Brett Hipworth and Michael Pors enjoyed the hospitality of the Royal Hotel.
COHUNA GOLF
“IF at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” was the motto that Ted Jackson followed as he finally came out on top in Thursday’s R&R.
After several weeks of returning good scores but getting pipped at the post, Ted’s 38 points was the best score on the day.
John Power had 37 points and the shy, humble Dennis Griffiths had 36.
NTP’s went to Gary Yates, Alan Moloney, Mal Appleby and Bruce Bird.
With Hospital Day scheduled for Sunday, many players were missing from the normal Saturday field.
It was a tough day out there and scores were quite low.
“Best” of the day was Brenton Smyth with -1.
Troy Van Der Zande had 2 NTPs on 2 and 17, with Trevor Farrant being closest on 11.
A big field braved the wet and windy conditions on Sunday to support the Cohuna Hospital.
Linda Moloney and Ros Dunne took out the ladies with 43 on countback from Judy Simmonds and Marg Winship.
Rhys Bradley and Paul Reid recorded 46 to take out the Men’s event, from the following teams in order, all split on countback with 43.
Joel Woolhouse/Adam Jackson, Tim Mitchell/Jordan Smith, Mal Appleby/Geoff Hall.
The teams event winners for the ladies were Viv, Gen, Marg and Judy with Adam, Joel, Jordan and Tim taking out the Men’s.
NTP winners were Robyn McGraw, Viv Moylan and Ros and for the Men, Brett Dye, Dennis Griffiths, Tim Mitchell and John Power.
Straightest drives went to Lois Stone and Paul Reid and best putters on the day were Ros Dunne and Bob Nicholls.
