Alivia is an outstanding young woman and netballer, who always strives to be her best and contributes to the SHFNC in a variety of ways.
Alivia has made and continues to make, a rich contribution to many aspects of our club.
She loves being involved as a player, umpire, leader and a volunteer and has developed her skills both on and off the court.
As a player, she has progressed with enthusiasm through the junior grades and has always been adaptable and willing to play in any position.
In 2019, she joined our A Grade side as a permanent player in our defensive end.
Alivia has proven to be a valuable and consistent player within the A Grade team throughout 2021 and has actively sought out advice and constructive criticism in an effort to improve her playing performance.
Alivia has always been highly respectful of match officials and her coaches and committed to the teams she has played with and to her training schedule.
She rarely misses a training session and has always notified her coach in advance if she was going to be absent.
This is evidenced from the many accolades she has won both at club and personal level.
In conjunction with this, Alivia thoroughly enjoys giving back to her club and peers by fulfilling a variety of roles, including umpiring on a weekly basis across all levels of the club and applying herself to improve her umpiring ability over the years.
Alivia committed herself to participating in the Umpire Academy and was awarded her C Grade umpires badge in 2019.
Since then, she has continued to practice and develop her umpiring skills and with the support of more senior club officials, has demonstrated ongoing growth and development.
Alivia is an excellent role model for other netballers and encourages her peers to become involved in umpiring.
Alivia also attends weekly Under 18 training sessions to share the knowledge and skills she’s learnt as an A Grade player and helps umpire their training sessions.
Alivia also volunteered her time to lead the junior players in their pre-season fitness sessions this season.
Away from netball Alivia readily contributes to the SHFNC in other ways.
The annual Riverside Tri event is a major fundraiser for which she has been a voluntary marshal since its inception in 2016.
She is also quick to volunteer whenever the request is made by our club at other times, including the annual June Racing Carnival clean up, fundraising activities, Saturday canteen duty, Thursday night club meals preparation and clean-ups.
The Swan Hill Football Netball Club Committee have no hesitation in nominating Alivia Andrews for the 2021 Netball 19 and Under Distinction award.
