ALL New South Wales border bubble local government areas, with the exception of Albury, have been downgraded from extreme risk zones to red zones as of Sunday September 19.
All cross-border residents can now cross for any reason, provided they haven’t left the cross-border region, or visited an extreme risk area in NSW.
Victorian residents who are in temporary accommodation at the NSW border can now also apply for a red zone permit and the entitlement to return to Victoria.
Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said these residents will still have to quarantine at home for 14 days and get tested at regular intervals through that period.
“But you can’t have been in one of those remaining extreme risk zones, so those LGAs under lockdown in NSW, in the previous 14 days before you travel,” Mr Sutton said.
