Golf Report August 13-15

ON Friday August 13 the Lalbert Golf Club held the Mallee Hay Day 3 Person Ambrose event.

The winning Scratch Team was Jo Watts, Lindsay Watts and Matt Loats on 64, from the teams of Dean Alexander, Derek Hartshorn, Nathan Walle and Doug Meehan; and James Meehan (jnr), Brenton Weybery, both on 66.

In the handicap, the team of Maree Kingwill, Sarah Young and brother Mark O’Meara took it out with a Nett 58, from Dean Alexander, Derek Hatshorn, Nathan Walle on 59 2/3 Nett and Charlie Kingwill, Jacob O’Meara, Billy O’Meara on 60 Nett.

NTP on the 6th, Ladies was Karen McKissack, Men’s was Brett Peken.

NTP on the 8th, Ladies – , Men’s, Ken Meehan. Straightest Drive on 7, Ladies was Jess Worner, Men was Rick McKenzie.

Longest Drive on 1, Ladies was Jo Watts, Men was Brenton Weybury.

On Sunday August 15 the Lalbert Golf Club’s Annual 18 Hole Stroke event was held in conjunction with the NDGA 2021 Sand Scrape Championships.

In the Ladies, Tricia Witney (Lake Side) took out the Scratch with 87 (Nett 58) from Jean Youl (Lake Side) and Karen McKissack both on 89. Jean Youl (LS) took out the H/Cap with a Nett 69 from Joan Foster (LS) on 70 Nett, Laurel Dewhurst (LS) and Karen McKissack (Lalbert) on 72 Nett.

In the A Grade Men, Dale Jager (LS/MD) took out the Scratch with a 72 from James McLean (LBT/MD) on 73 and Chris Manners (Kerang) on 76.

In the H/Cap, Chris Manners won with a Nett 71, from Dale Jager 71 Nett, James Meehan (Snr) (LBT) 72 Nett.

In The B Grade Men, the Scratch winner was Greg Cruicshank (LS) on 78 from Maurice Meehan (LBT) and Scott Worner (LBT) on 80.

In the H/Cap, Scott Worner won with a Nett 66, from Charlie Kingwill (LBT) on Nett 67 and Greg Cruicshank on Nett 68.

In the C Grade, the Scratch winner was Dave Williams (LS) on 86, on count back from Stuart McGregor (LBT) and Billy O’Meara (LBT) on 90.

In the H/Cap, the winner was Billy O’Meara on 58 Nett, from Stuart McGregor on 68 Nett and Dave Williams on 69 Nett.

NTP’s – on 6, Ladies, Laurel Dewhurst (LS), Men Doug Meehan (LBT). On 8, Ladies Jean Youl (LS) Men Doug Meehan.

Second Shot on 9, Ladies Sarah Young (LBT), Men, Fred O’Bryan (LS).

Straightest Drive on 7, Ladies Jean Youl. Men Fred O’Bryan.

Longest Drive on 1, Ladies, Tricia Witney (LS) and Men’s, James Meehan (Jnr).

Clubs represented on Sunday were Kerang, Lake Side, Lalbert, Murrabit, Murray Downs, and Nyah West.

Balranald and Tooleybuc were unable to attend owing to the NSW Regional Covid Lock Down.

The Club would like to congratulate the 2021 NDGA Sand Scape Champions, in the Men, Dale Jager and the Ladies, Tricia Witney, both from the Lakeside Golf Club, Lake Boga.
