A BROWN 1975 HJ Holden belonging to an 88-year-old parishioner from a church in Campbell Street was stolen between 11am and 12.20pm last Saturday.

Some time later, the stolen vehicle caused damage to a parked vehicle in a hit and run in Albert Street.

A member of the public known to the victim spotted the distinctive vehicle being driven towards Murray Downs about 1.20pm but was not aware that vehicle was stolen at that time.

Police are following a particular line of inquiry in conjunction with NSW Police.
