BREAKING NEWS: Confirmed gas leak at Caltex

BREAKING:

There is an unconfirmed (now confirmed) gas leak at the Caltex Woolworths Service Station on the corner of McCallum and Beveridge Street. Swan Hill.

Police, CFA and Ambulance are now in attendance.

The incident is now under control.

Detours have been put in place.

Vic Emergency: has confirmed that there is a hazardous gas leak at the Caltex Service Station (Woolworths).

“Flames may be visible while emergency services are burning off the gas to extinguish the leak.” “There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.” Keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond.

Further update at 12.38pm Wednesday.

Vic emergency have advised that the service station has now closed and that customers are unable to enter the business.

“There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor the conditions,” Vic Emergency said. Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond and that people avoid the area while emergency services resolve the issue,

“Emergency Services will remain in the area as they clean up the leak.”

2.40pm update:

EMEREGENCY services have evacuated the scene of a gas leak at the Caltex service station on Beveridge and McCallum Streets.

The business has now reopened.
