SWAN Hill police are investigating a suspicious house fire in Swan Hill on Friday.
The fire started at a Fulford Court property about 1.20pm.
The house was unoccupied at the time.
Swan Hill Fire Brigade captain Dennis Turner said the fire was deemed suspicious because there were two points of ignition in the house.
“The house is pretty well destroyed out the back,” he said.
“It’s only really destroyed the back end of the house, the rest of the house is smoke and heat damaged.”
Capt Turner said the house, which is Department of Health and Human Services housing, was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
He said there was no furniture or beds in the house.
“We had three crews from Swan Hill and one from Woorinen South turn up,” he said.
Capt Turner said it took crew members about 15 minutes to have the fire under control.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
