FOOD trucks rolled into Swan Hill at the weekend, and locals and visitors joined in the street style phenomenon in droves.

Held on the banks of the Murray, more than 8000 people flooded to Riverside Park to taste an array of modern and traditional street food and enjoy a wide variety of entertainment.

Swan Hill Farmers Market manager Grace Pryor said she was thrilled with the event.

“We couldn’t be happier with how the weekend went,” Ms Pryor said.

“People came from all over to attend with foot traffic on Saturday alone there was between 8000 to 11,000 people.”

With more than 15 food trucks, the festival provided a “delicious cuisine offering specialised menus from many corners of the world.”

From curry, calamari, woodfire pizza, ribs and dumplings to smoky barbecue, Ms Pryor said there was something for everyone.

“It was a fantastic family-friendly event set at a beautiful and majestic venue,” she said.

“Vendors were all very happy with the event and local police were very happy with the organisation.”

Ms Pryor thanked all sponsors who made the first food truck festival possible as well as the local businesses who supplied groceries to the vendors.

“Especially the Sunday morning, when some local businesses opened especially for the vendors to restock after a sellout of food Saturday night,” she said.

“A big thank you to our fellow foodies, who served up delicious eats to thousands of hungry mouths for three days and nights.

“A sincere thank you to the community and district communities of Swan Hill for the support and acceptance of the festival.”
