MVPA

THE State Mixed Pairs were played last Sunday at Racecourse Bowls Club, with Helen Frame and Shane Domaille winning their section from Lyndal Taylor and Graeme Bennett in a nail-biting finish, with both teams finishing on two wins.

This was especially important, as it guaranteed straight passage to the grand final.

Kylie Gardner and ‘Buck’ Lehmann teamed up to win their section and advance to the semi-final, beating Connie Rovere and Rod Wardle in their final match.

In section 3, three teams finished on two wins apiece, with a countback required to find the winner.

Alannah Taylor and Norm Smith, with a mammoth percentage of 198, grabbed their chance from Trish and John Armstrong, with Kylie Bailey and Glenn McIntosh in third place.

The semi-final will be played at Racecourse on Sunday morning, beginning at 9.30am, between Gardner and Lehmann and Taylor and Smith.

The final will then follow after lunch, at approximately 12.30pm, when Frame and Domaille await the winners of the semi-final.
