Easter holiday makers have been enjoying all that Swan Hill has to offer, including the weather, which provides a welcome relief from the cooler temperatures down south.
In a rare occurrence, this year Easter falls at the end of the school holiday period.
However, that hasn’t stopped hundreds of holiday makers converging on the town for the Easter break.
Big 4 Caravan Park receptionist Michelle Costa said the park was fully booked over Easter.
She said the weather was a huge drawcard in attracting people to the region.
“We have had families here all week enjoying the splash park,” she said.
“With Easter falling at the end of the two week school holiday period we have seen an impact but we seem to have two waves of visitors now — those who came for the holidays and those who are just checking in for the Easter break.”
Big 4 Riverside owner Ainsley O’Bryan echoed those sentiments.
“I think it has impacted somewhat, the town has a better overall holiday period when Easter falls earlier in the school holidays but we always have a full house at Easter and this year is no different,” she said.
Enjoying the sunshine and the playground at Riverside Park was Melbourne-based Edward Jones and his extended family.
His mother Sam said they were up visiting her father who has lived in Swan Hill for a long time.
Her sister had travelled from Shepparton and they were enjoying the opportunity to spend time together.
“We thoroughly enjoy it,” Sam said.
“It’s just such a beautiful town and the people are gorgeous.
“The weather is perfect and it’s just an ideal place for a relaxing getaway.
“We spent a lot of time here as we were growing up as our grandparents also lived here so it’s been a big part of our lives.”
