Have you seen the bright red fire truck parked on Speewa-Punt Road?
Well, it’s not just for show.
Local resident, Alison Gibson, has put the 1956 Loadstar Austin WE fire truck on the market.
Having purchased the vehicle from friends more than 15 years ago, Ms Gibson said the truck originally hailed from an area close to Murrabit.
Ms Gibson initially purchased the truck to fulfil a lifelong hobby.
“I am a collector of all sorts of strange things, we had planted trees so we needed something to water with,” Ms Gibson said.
A collector indeed, the Gibson’s property has sheds filled with classic trucks, motorbikes and cars.
Having worked in the automotive industry for more than 30 years, Ms Gibson and her husband recently retired.
Looking forward to their next adventure, she’s preparing to travel overseas.
“I’m selling the truck so that I can go to Portugal,” Ms Gibson said.
