After years of hounding by dog owners, Swan Hill council is investigating the need for an off-leash dog park in the municipality.
An online survey has asked community members for their input on how often they would use the park, what facilities they would like to see included and where the park should be located.
Swan Hill council development and planning director Adam McSwain said more than 120 surveys had been received in the first week since it went live.
“The community has come on board by sharing the survey link on social media,” he said.
Long-time off-leash dog park campaigner Cam Langley, who owns two German Shorthaired Pointers, said Swan Hill needed an off leash dog park to allow dogs to safely exercise.
