THE Christmas rush is fast approaching with Victorians expected to spend just under $12 million in the lead up to the holiday.
Retailers will rejoice as families look for the perfect gift. The National Retail Association is expecting $46.5 billion to be turned over during the period from now until Boxing Day.
With Victoria the second-highest spending state — behind New South Wales on more than $15 billion — local shops are embracing the love.
Sportsfirst Swan Hill owner Brock Monk said business hadn’t quite picked up yet but it would toward the last few days of December.
