A BEVERFORD dart player was just days away from pulling out the Australian team due to a calf injury, before overcoming the strain to bring home four gold medals for his country.

Justin Thompson took to the Asia-Pacific Cup in Japan where he won the singles competition, the doubles, team event and was part of the tournament winning Australian side.

Such was the dominance of the team from down under, they had three of their four players finish inside the top four.
