When Lake Boga carpenter Jim Blackwood suffered a cardiac arrest last month, it just happened to be Thank a Paramedic Day.
Now after almost a month since the life-changing emergency, a healthier Mr Blackwood has been reunited with the three Swan Hill paramedics who used a new drug to save the grandfather’s life.
“I know that without these people being there I would not be here,” an emotional Mr Blackwood, who is still recovering and off the tools, said.
“I have five grandchildren and they would be devastated otherwise.”
Already living with a heart condition for the past 10 years, Mr Blackwood fell violently ill on the night of July 28.
