Passengers eager for a ride on a visiting Diesel Electric Rail Motor were left standing on the platform after the train reached full capacity well before departure time on Saturday.
But the story ended well when the organisers announced a second round trip to Woorinen would immediately follow the first.
More than 200 people flocked to the Swan Hill railway station on Saturday afternoon as the 1930 58 RM arrived from Melbourne with a load of tourists who stayed in Swan Hill for the night.
The train took local residents along the main train line out to Woorinen, providing a rarely seen view of the countryside.
