TYNTYNDER’S season hasn’t been the club’s best, but on the weekend the Bulldogs showed they could become a youthful powerhouse after stunning the Cohuna Kangas in the final quarter.
Heading into the match, Player of the Year nomination Tom Sala, 18, said they had a planned attack to bring down the Kangas at their own home ground.
The best on ground was part of a young squad of players who were tasked with running as much as they could to put their opponents under pressure.
Despite fading in and out of the game, Tyntynder got the job done and Sala believes it puts them in good stead for an early assault on the 2017 competition.
“We went in wanting to win one or two more games, so we took in our match ups and with young blokes with good fitness and speed,” he said.
“All year we have stuck with the best sides for a half or a quarter but we would then lapse, we always have the right intent but skill errors consistently in moments when we couldn’t to turn it over hurt us.
“I reckon if we can hold onto the guys we have now and recruit well next year, we will be a pretty good side with the young blokes sticking around.”
The young on-baller will remain with the Bulldogs next year while works and wants to be part of Bulldog dynasty in the future.
