AN historic local homestead will be preserved for future generations after it was added to the Victorian Heritage Register earlier this month.
The decision by the Heritage Council of Victoria means Tyntyndyer Homestead is considered to possess historical and architectural significance.
Tyntyndyer Homestead Inc board member Marilyne Nicholls said the move put the property “on the map”.
Ms Nicholls said the board, in conjunction with support group Friends of Tyntyndyer, was committed to restoring the historic property and eventually opening it to the public.
“Our vision further down the track is to reopen it,” she said.
