SWAN Hill’s men’s soccer team crashed to a 3-2 loss to last year’s premiers Strathdale Soccer Club at home in the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League’s (BASL) Inter-League Cup.
The match — held at Ken Harrison Reserve — was closely fought throughout the 90 minutes, with the home side looking like they could match it with their opponents for much of the match.
Swan Hill drew 1-1 with Epsom Soccer Club in round 1, but were focused on knocking off last year’s champions and continue their unbeaten run of eight matches on Sunday.
Swan Hill Soccer League treasurer Joseph Pino said the side were disappointed after conceding a goal late in the match, dashing their hopes of a draw or last minute win.
