ORGANISERS of the Riverside Triathlon have been “blown away” after more than 400 competitors aged eight to 68 raced through the Pioneer Settlement and along the famous Murray River.
Rounding up as much attention as they could, organisers Renee Hirst, Bernice Foott and Emily Patterson were overjoyed after their idea came to life 12 months after it was first hatched.
Goals were the order of the day with many competitors smashing their personal bests, pleasing the organisers who said watching the community become healthier together was exciting.
Yearly planning may also be implemented with Hirst hoping to have the event staged on the same weekend every year.
