Dreads for Men’s Shed

DREADLOCKS — love them or hate them, these ones are going to a good cause.

Nyah West local Ingrid Watson, who has been sporting the hippie-chic for the past two-and-a-half years is shaving them off to raise money for Men’s Sheds in Nyah West and Lake Boga.

“I’ve always wanted to give back to Nyah West somehow, I didn’t know how and I was thinking about getting rid of the dreadlocks anyway,” she said.

“I know many of the fellas down at the [Nyah District Men’s Shed] and the neighbouring op-shop, some are ex-teachers, ex-businessmen, and some are farmers from the area.”

Ingrid will shave her head in front of a live audience on Sunday, February 28 at the Swan Hill Club, around 6.30pm when the bands finish.

For more information visit Ingrid’s website, which has already received $297 online donations.
