COMMUNITY members have vowed to fight a recent council decision approving a Coles Express service station in the Swan Hill CBD.
A group of around 20 locals gathered at the Swan Hill Club on Wednesday evening to form a committee to seek review from the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) — a process they anticipate will cost around $10,000.
The objectors are looking to fund their VCAT bid via donations and say community support for their cause is high, with over 350 people signing a petition against the development so far.
They have already secured a town planner to represent them and will lodge the application with VCAT within the next two weeks.
