Twins ready for new adventure

SCHOOL children from across the region will start back at school tomorrow while others will stagger start between Friday and Tuesday of next week.

Swan Hill Primary School and Swan Hill North Primary School both have all students returning tomorrow with the new grade prep students coming at staggered start times to allow them to settle in.

St Mary’s Primary School will return on Monday and all students will commence this day.

If you are unsure of what time your grade prep child should commence, contact your school directly.

Swan Hill College re-opens its doors on Thursday with Years 7 and 12 students commencing studies. All other year levels will then commence on Friday, January 29.

And similarly, St Mary MacKillop College will have Year 7 and 12 students commencing on Monday, February 1 while the rest of the school will reconvene on Tuesday.

Lana and Zoe Brooks are five and both are excited to be commencing at St Mary’s Primary school on Monday. They have their bags packed and items all labelled ahead of their big day.

The girls said they were excited and happy about going to school and not at all nervous.

The pair will be in the same classroom for their first year which will assist them with the goodbyes to mum and dad somewhat.

“I like it because I already have someone to sit next to,” said Lana about her first day of school.

Both girls have big aspirations in life with Lana aiming to be a doctor and a banker, while Zoe has the massive task ahead of her of realizing her ambition to be a super hero or a fairy. If that fails, she will also consider medicine.

If you have a story or photo of your child’s first day of school, The Guardian would love to hear it. Email edit@theguardian.com.au
