Hate charges dropped

NARELLE Gregory, the 38-year-old Swan Hill woman charged last month with religious vilification, will not front court after Victoria Police dropped all charges last week.

Ms Gregory allegedly posted on Facebook in December 2014 calling for “all mosques to be burned down with the doors shut at prayer time”.

She was due to appear at Swan Hill Magistrates Court on February 16, but the case will now be withdrawn.

“The charges of religious vilification have been dropped. They will be withdrawn at the court hearing next month,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said on Monday.
