Paying it Forward

NEWS of likeable local Dean Billman’s bike being stolen spread like wild fire yesterday as The Guardians Facebook page hit 40,000 people reached.

In a good news happy ending, Dean, more commonly known as Deano or Yabbie Man had his bike returned after it was dumped in an alley way.

Dean received word that his bike had been located by two children who posted a picture on Facebook. Chances are, it is due to the communities outrage and support for Dean that the bike became just a little “too hot” and was left abandoned.

Dean inadvertently tugged at the town’s heart strings earlier this week when a Facebook page was started to get donations for Dean’s bike to be replaced. In less than two hours the money was raised and the bike was paid for. Later that same day Dean rode out of Supercheap Auto aboard a brand spankin’ new bike and accessories donated by Supercheap Auto and Bikes and Trikes.
