SWAN Hill Inc is looking to host more business forums after 58 people showed up on Monday night to listen to guest speaker Max Walker.
The entrepreneur and former test cricketer spoke at the Swan Hill Inc business forum at Swan Hill Club on Monday night.
“He was talking about the types of changes that happen in businesses, and what people should be looking for to make sure they’re successful,” Swan Hill Inc chair Murray Ray said.
“He also talked about his football and cricket careers, obviously, but it was a business meeting and he talked about achieving goals that you want to achieve in business.”
Mr Ray said the organisation would look at holding more of the forums after what he said turned out to be a “very, very good night”.
“We’ll be looking at doing business forums at least two or three times a year from now on, and that’s the first one for this year,” he said.
“[Mr Walker] was very good to have for the first one, because we had people fill out forms afterwards and there were a lot of people who ticked off that it was excellent.
“We were very happy about that.”
Swan Hill Inc is now looking towards hosting a meeting about its newly formed advocacy committee on July 15.
“We’ve changed our structure a little bit in that we have specific committees to talk to businesses about how they can improve things,” Mr Ray commented.
“We have an advocacy committee which will talk to businesses about what we should be doing for them, and how we can advocate with state governments or even the local council on their behalf.
“So we’ll be having one of those advocacy meetings on the 15th of July, actually.”
