THE Mallee Eagles plan to support the family of Jaron Bennett throughout the footy season.
Mr Bennett was taking part in a pre-season training camp at Lalbert on February 21 when he collapsed and was unable to be revived.
An appeal and plans for fundraisers have been put in place to support Mr Bennett’s wife Tiff and their son Luca.
Mr Bennett’s affiliation with Lalbert started aged 9 and continued until his death at 25.
His son Luca was just seven weeks old at the time of his death.
Mallee Eagles president Geoff Kendell said the club was fully behind the Bennetts in supporting their future.
“The club has been really good that way. We’ve got a family day organised and a number of other things happening,” he said.
The junior section of the club had a barbecue at the opening of Swan Hill’s Bunnings last week, with donations and funds raised going to the family.
