THE Swan Hill show committee has worked tirelessly to ensure this year’s event offers something new and innovating for all ages.
With variety in mind, visitors can expect to see an array of attractions from farm animals and livestock to arts, crafts and cooking competitions.
Of course it wouldn’t be a Show without rides, showbags, food and drinks and sideshows, but this year promises to offer families plenty of bang for their buck with a host of free entertainers, activities and events taking place.
Walter Whip and the Flames will lighten the mood with an impressive display of whip cracking combined with high-tech pyrotechnics.
In this jaw-dropping display, Walter Whip will showcase his whip-cracking skills and share stories about his expertise with showgoers.
As the sun sets, get ready for an adrenaline-pumping evening show where whip-cracking meets fiery flames.
Walter and his skilled assistant will deliver a performance that will leave you on the edge of your seat If you’re still chasing an adrenalin hit, be sure to check out the Vic Bike Trials demonstrations or the fabulous and always popular fireworks display that have become a Friday night tradition.
For those looking for a taste of farm life, everything from the hoof to the hook is on offer with a range of competitions and results across sections including, wool class, livestock, poultry and dairy products.
If arts and crafts are more your style, the show not only presents an array of popular art and craft mediums such as photography, canvas work, needle and fancywork, teddy bear and doll section, but some lesser known competitions such as the primary school aged children’s handwriting contest and scrapbooking.
There will be an impressive CFA display, where firefighters will simulate emergency situations and respond to them.
Keep your eyes out for a range of cute and fun characters wandering around, including Dinkum Dinosaurs, and the Racing Ducks which will pick up where the pigs left off last year, battling for the fastest duck title.
Entry to the show is $22 for an adult for a day pass, concession and students 16 years and over is $11 per day and children 11-16 is $5.50 per day.
All children under 10 are free.
