Some unhappy with decision

LAKE Boga residents are disappointed with a decision to leave the speed limit through town at 80kmh.

VicRoads confirmed this week they would not be changing the speed limit, following a review into traffic volumes and housing density.

Locals — many of whom have been calling on VicRoads to change the speed limit for several years — are not convinced the outcome is suitable for the town.

The Murray Valley Highway divides the town in half, and they say it deters people from crossing over into the commercial precinct and is dangerous for those wishing to walk to the lake.

Elderly residents and school children residing by the lake have a hard time crossing the road safely, especially when it’s busy.
