Pair meet in winning form

MORE great weather awaits Swan Hill Lawn Tennis Association players fronting up for Round 2 tomorrow.

Werril (formerly Curlewis) takes on Beveridge with both teams coming into the match-up with winning form.

Werril will be bolstered by the return of John Wardle in the number one spot while Beveridge will be missing Lachlan Carrol, Gene Brooks and Alan Thompson but have recruited Daniel Gardner at number one from the bye team.

Werril’s captain Brett Pekin will feel the eased pressure with the return of Wardle and has hopefully recovered from his toe injury that led to his singles defeat last week.

The battle of the left handers Fatt and Barnes at number six will be a highlight of the day along with young guns Sunny Handy versus Jack McCaig at seven.

In the women’s section, Kiwi Dave Jonkers’ two prodigies go head to head as Renee McCaig takes on Jacqui Brooks — and Brooks’ awesome new topspin backhand.
