Trains still running

PUBLIC Transport Victoria has apologised for errors on its website that sparked fear the Swan Hill to Melbourne train service was set to be axed.

Several concerned residents contacted The Guardian earlier this week after reading new timetables that indicated only coaches would continue to operate between Swan Hill and the state’s capital as of the end of the week.

However, PTV confirmed on Monday the changes to the new timetable were incorrect and Swan Hill’s regular train service would continue as usual.

“Public Transport Victoria is aware of some errors in the Swan Hill train timetables on PTV’s website and is working to rectify the issues as soon as possible,” a spokeswoman said.

“We sincerely apologise to our customers for this inconvenience.”

The spokeswoman said residents could access the correct timetable on the V/Line website www.vline.com.au or by calling the PTV call centre on 1800 800 007.

V/Line timetables are also published in every edition of The Guardian.
